8 THINGS YOU TOUCH EVERY DAY THAT ARE RIDDLED WITH GERMS AND BACTERIA
For most of us, there are just some things that we can’t really go one day without touching. From kitchen countertops and sinks to remote controls and keyboards, we touch tons of things every single day that are contaminated beyond belief with germs and bacteria. Of course since the bacteria are invisible though, we don’t even realize it! They say ignorance is bliss, but we thought you might want to know all the filthy things you come in contact with on a daily basis…
1. Kitchen Sink
It seems like it would be a clean place, since it’s where you make the magic happen with your dishes and all. You scrub away at the grime lining your dinner plates and wash it all down the drain, making sure to wipe down the whole sink at the end to show a job well done. Sorry to break it to you, but
all you basically did was spread all of that bad bacteria all over your sink with your sponge.
Does it make you feel uncomfortable knowing that there are 119,468 bacteria per square inch in your bathtub near the drain? Well, it should. Bathtubs that are dirty can cause a slew of problems, like urinary tract infections and staph infections. Not to mention, when you take a bath you’re basically just floating in your own filth from the day. Not so clean after all if you think about it…
3. Cell Phone
Think of how many times you touch your cell phone and hold it up to your mouth… Things like saliva, grease, food and even makeup get all over your phone and hide in crevices so you don’t even know it’s there. It’s basically a breeding ground for bacteria and it’s just plain gross.
4. Toilet Bowl
The toilet bowl is pretty much an infestation of bacteria, since it has on average 3.2 million bacteria per square inch! This one is pretty self-explanatory. After all, it is a toilet.
5. Remote Control
Germs and bacteria are crawling all over your remote controls at home, and it really shouldn’t be any surprise. It’s kind of just like your cell phone, in that germs on hands work their way into the device. And it’s not just your home remote that’s disgusting, public ones at hotels and hospitals have been found to have bodily fluids and other nasty germs.
While you’re typing away on your keyboard you’re also touching tons of germs and bacteria lurking in between the keys. Unfortunately, things like your office keyboard don’t get cleaned regularly so all of those bad germs and bacteria accumulate.
If you think about it, paper money is one of the grossest things ever. Millions of people exchange money all the time, so paper money travels all over (and what it brings back is out of this world). Some studies have actually shown traces of cocaine on paper money, as well as the flu virus. Time to start using that debit card!
8. Your Mouth
Ever hear the saying that a dog’s mouth is cleaner than a human’s mouth? Well, they aren’t just saying that for no reason. Technically, dogs do have bacteria in their mouths but apparently their saliva is much cleaner than ours. To sum it all up, you’re more likely to get ill from kissing another human than from kissing your pooch. Even though we clean some of these everyday items that are riddled with germs and bacteria, they still manage to get dirtier and dirtier. The problem has to do with what
we use to clean them… A lot of people use commercial cleaners to clean their home but they don’t know the dirty truth about them (that they leave behind MORE
